The former Dapto High School student plays a younger version of Adrien Brody’s character, Peter Bower, in the psychological thriller Backtrack.
The movie, also starring Sam Neill, was filmed around two years ago at various NSW locations including Warragamba Dam and Oberon.
Psychologist Peter Bower's life is thrown into turmoil when he discovers that the patients he has been seeing are ghosts. Risking his own sanity, Peter delves into his past to uncover a terrifying secret which only he can put right. Backtrack is a spine‑chilling story from the acclaimed writer‑director, Michael Petroni.*
The film premiered at last year’s Tribecca Film Festival, though HSC exams prevented Hyde from attending the gala event.
Hyde, who’s also a professionally trained dancer, is now perfecting his craft with a diploma at Screenwise acting school in Sydney.
Meantime later this year Hyde’s face will grace the small screen, taking the lead in the short film Dedo to be screened on the ABC.
