The Gerroa Environmental Protection Society, Environmental Defednder’s Office NSW and the Nature Conservation Council will host the workshop.
The Gerroa group has been strongly opposed to the changes contained in the new laws, saying they would “enable the return of broad-scale land clearing and habitat destruction across the state”.
The new laws, the Biodiversity Conservation Bill 2016 and Local Land Services Amendment Bill 2016, which will replace the Native Vegetation Act and Threatened Species Conservation Act, are currently on public exhibition and submissions close on 28 June.
The workshop is on Monday, June 20, from 6-8pm at the Gerroa Neighbourhood Centre, 37 Stafford St, Gerroa.
