Freshwater anglers are reminded the bass and trout seasons are now closed and intentional fishing for these species will result in heavy fines as they are off limits for breeding purposes.

Trout in particular are off the menu list until October long weekend in all flowing waters within NSW so check the DPI/Fisheries website for those dams and impoundments that still permit fishing.
Mark from Kiama Game FC said their annual presentation night last Saturday at Kiama Leagues went off well despite the mix-up with bookings.
Champion Boat Tag & Release (with club record of 17 marlin) and Champion Boat Capture went to ProFishEnt and sincere congratulations go to skipper Sondal Bensan and his crew with notable mention to Kano who won several individual sections including a black marlin capture of 130.8 kilo on 15 kilo tackle.
Several guests from other clubs were in attendance including Sanchia Gaskin, the Southern Zone president, and inaugural committee and life members, Greg and Deb Cameron.
Young gun Lachlan Rogers from Karizma won Champion Junior angler capture with his 123.5 kilo blue marlin from the recent Blowhole Big Fish Classic Comp.

On the fishing scene, snapper have been well and truly on the bite following the recent big seas and the local charter boats and club members have been returning with exceptional captures in size and quantity that were topped off by big john dory, mowies and small makos.
