Definition Fitness Training’s Daniel Knust and Natalie Gerada and their team’s effort to help one of their clients raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation has more than doubled expectations. The generous gym set itself a challenge of $2000 but raised close to $4200 to help blood cancer survivor Vi Blazevska, of ANZ Bank, as ambassador for Angels at Work. $3000 of that was generated by a squat challenge. When Mrs Blazevska was diagnosed in 2014 Definition Fitness helped her recover her mobility after months in hospital.

The team now regard her as part of the family and when they heard what she was doing for the Leukaemia Foundation they decided to fundraise for the whole month.
They waved membership fees at the gym so it was just a $49 donation to Angels at Work
Mr Knust, Ms Gerada, Luke Rollinson, Sally Bassuni, Kim Byrne, Dylan Mena and Justin Andari and many others helped six members of the Definition team get physical for the cause.
“About $3000 was raised from the squat challenge and then another $1000 through our membership from all the signups for the month of May,” Mr Knust said.
“We set a target of $2000 to start with and we reached that three weeks before we did the event. I can’t wait until next year to do it bigger and better.”
The Definition Fitness team are already plans to do it again next year.
Mrs Blazevska said after being so sick she felt like she has found a purpose to help others in a similar situation through fundraising.
But she said she could not have done so much this year without the help of so many in the community such as the team at Definition Fitness.
“They have been amazing,” she said.
“Everyone is so giving. We didn’t even ask anyone for donations.”
Mrs Blazevska is already planning for the 2017 Angels at Work. She said everything this year was organised so quickly.
