A 23rd minute strike from Trent Worthington helped the Sharks to a gutsy 1-0 victory at Ocean Park.
The Fury were the ladder leaders heading into the clash and the Sharks struggling in the relegation fight, but it didn’t matter as Anderson secured the biggest victory of his tenure.
“Some of the guys were saying it was probably the biggest win that Woonona has had since being in the Premier League,” Anderson, who is in his first season at the helm of the Sharks, said.
“It was a very good win.”
The win moves Woonona (11 points) to ninth position on level points with both Port Kembla and South Coast United in a congested pack at the bottom of the competition. Shell Cove (eight points) are at the foot of the ladder after losing six points earlier this month.
