Coenraad, who has been playing with the Canberra Gunners during the off season, joins Rhys Martin, Kevin White, Cody Ellis, Oscar Forman and ALL NBL Starting 5 centre AJ Ogilvy as returning players from the squad that went to the brink of making the grand final series last season.
Currently eighth on the list for all-time appearances for the Hawks with 193, Coenraad believes he can continue to build on his game with another season under Rob Beveridge after averaging 9.5 points and 3.5 rebounds a game last season,
“I am always looking to build on my own game and under the guidance of the Hawks coaching staff I'm eager to improve in areas that the team needs,” Coenraad said.
"We’ve been able to recruit some exciting young talent to compliment the returning players from last season and I'm proud to be a part of this group.”
Coenraad brings the the Hawks roster to eight alongside the returning contingent and new recruits Mitch Norton and Nick Kay, leaving the three import spots open.
Beveridge has indicated he will look to fill all three import spots with a keen eye on the upcoming NBA summer leagues while the club has been strongly linked to 2013-14 league MVP Rotnei Clarke.
Current Hawks roster: Rhys Martin, Mitch Norton, Kevin White, Tim Coenraad, Nick Kay, Cody Ellis, Oscar Forman, AJ Ogilvy.
