Rose Cole will be the musical talent at the third Say It Sing It event, while Ratsack is the featured poet.
The 13-year-old Cole has a formidable and ever expanding repertoire of original songs she has recently recorded.
Ratsack grew up in northern Illawarra but it was years later while living in the US that he discovered the spoken word genre.
Say It Sing It is the brainchild of the South Coast Writers Centre (SCWC) and Wollongong City Council, who have partnered to bring poets and songwriters onto the stage of Wollongong Mall for nights of spoken word poetry, music and competition.
‘’Hearing live poetry with live music is such a powerful collaboration not usually seen together,’’ SCWC events coordinator Mignon Lee-Warden said.
The free event also includes an open mic section inviting audience members to get involved.
