Controversial property developer Salim Mehajer will not be able to share his first wedding anniversary with his estranged wife Aysha, after a court continued an order that he not approach or contact her.

Less than a year after their elaborate wedding ceremony shut down a western Sydney street, the former council deputy mayor will be subject to an interim Apprehended Violence Order preventing him from contacting his wife.
Mr Mehajer, who has consistently denied that his marriage has broken down, did not appear in the Sydney Downing Centre Local Court when the order was mentioned on Wednesday morning.
Police had lodged a 28-day provisional order on behalf of Mr Mehajer's wife, who has reverted to using her maiden name, Aysha April Learmonth.
Magistrate Chris O'Brien said he would continue its terms, transforming it into an interim order.
There are seven conditions including those that forbid Mr Mehajer from intimidating, harassing or stalking Ms Learmonth.
Mr Mehajer's lawyer, Matthew Ward, told the court his client would challenge two of the order's conditions.
Those conditions relate to Mr Mehajer not being allowed to go within 50 metres of where Ms Learmonth resides or works, and not being able to approach or contact her by any means.
Ms Learmonth, a former Wollongong beautician, did not appear in court and has not yet made a formal statement to police.
Mr Mehajer has denied that Ms Learmonth requested the order, telling different media outlets the AVO was prompted after "alleged complaints by neighbours" and because "police seem to have nothing better to do".
After news broke of the order, Mr Mehajer posted a smiling photo of himself on Facebook with the caption "you are never fully dressed without a smile".
An individual can request police make an order on their behalf, or police can make an order if they fear for the safety of a person.
Mr Mehajer, who served on the now sacked Auburn Council, rose to prominence after his elaborate wedding ceremony, involving helicopters and a convoy of cars, in August 2015.
Questions about the approval for the wedding ceremony placed the spotlight on Auburn Council, which is now the subject of a state corruption inquiry.
Two other people have sought AVOs against Mr Mehajer - Ben Miller, reportedly his brother in law, and Bruce Herat, a personal trainer at his gym.
The matter is next due to come before court on August 17 when it is likely a date for a hearing on the terms of the order will be set.
