Late last week, over the weekend and earlier this week, the only thing stopping guys from getting into some mind blowing SBT action was the weather.
The SBT have been caught from as far south as Narooma, way up to Browns Mountain off Sydney and these tuna has been wide ranging in size from 20 kilo way up past 120 even 150 kilos.
Craig fished three days with Al McGlashan, Tom, Nick and Jay, and had one cracker of a session hooking and fighting a jumbo tuna for a 4.5 hour fight before the line succumbed to enormous pressure at the boat but they backed up with a three-way stoush on 70kg fish with two put on the deck.
The Gettin Snappy guys skippered by Jut Dawes had a blue ribbon day last Sunday with stats going 8-8-7 and had the fish up in the cube for a while.
Anthony Stokman from Top Cat Charters Batemans Bay and Compleat Angler Batemans Bay had them cubed at the boat for six hours and hooked an astounding 30 plus fish and in a true show of sportsmanship, radio other boats over to their hotspot. Back to the reefs where snapper have been again on the menu and Steve Perry nailed an excellent 5.54 kilo red in just 15 metres depth.
The rocks have seen a fair few nice drummer, trevally, bream, salmon and James Thompson bagged a few bonito but Lake luderick catches are down owing to no weed to be found.
