Imogen is larger than life and being seen by all visitors to the Eiffel Tower thanks to Tourism Australia and Symbio Wildlife Park.
The hand raised koala’s image features on an 11 metres high banner on the wall of the Australian Embassy located very close to the major landmark.
The photos was capture by Symbio marketing manager Kevin Fallon and was chosen by Tourism Australia because it is seen as an iconic image to promote Australia in Paris.
Mr Fallon said seeing Imogen starring so prominantly in Paris was an amazing feeling.
“I’m pretty stoked about it all and love working closely with the team from Tourism Australia. My role allows me to be in a very lucky position where I get to partner my passion for photography and videography with a world-class tourism product on a daily basis," he said.
Featuring the @Australia Instagram handle, the banner entices travellers to share their selfie on social media, and hopefully go on to book a trip to Australia and possible even meet Imogen in real life at Symbio Wildlife Park.
Symbio Wildlife Park owner John Radnidge visited Paris to see the banner and described being able to take his own selfie in front of the much loved koala as “a moment I will never forget”.
“From when we first purchased the zoo some 15 years back, to where we are now, I would of never imagined that our zoo would be utilised to promote the entire country in Paris,” he said.
"Imogen especially holds the closest of places in our hearts as she is named after my last grandchild. And my son Matt, who has devoted his entire work life to Symbio and his fiance, Kylie Elliott who started as a volunteer and is now our curator, both accepted the responsibility to hand raise Imogen from when she was a tiny joey.’’
Videos of Imogen can be seen @Symbio Wildlife Park or @Australia.com Facebook pages.
