Ms Golding was one of several foodies who met MasterChef casting producer Jess Dudley at Bulli’s Foragers Market on Sunday when she roamed the venue for potential new talent for season nine in 2017. Ms Dudley said she was looking for passionate people interested in cooking fresh and interesting food. She spent several hours visiting food stall holders and talking to market-goers about applying for the show.
“Every year we get a lot of people applying for the show but we love to find people at local markets who love fresh produce,” Ms Dudley said.
“There is a really good vibe here. It’s colourful, people are smiling and there is lots of yummy food.”
After three years of selling her cup cakes and macarons at the market under the name Blue Bird Sweets, 25-year-old Ms Golding has decided to apply for MasterChef and took the chance to discuss her application with Ms Dudley. “I watch the show and always thought it might be something I would try out for,” Ms Golding said.
