William ‘Bill’ Marsh hadn’t been seen since about 9am on Monday.
Mr Marsh’s disappearance sparked a police plea for assistance, as he suffers from dementia and requires regular medication.
The 86-year-old was found by a family member, reportedly his grandson, at a fast-food restaurant in Woonona about 7.30pm.
It is understood Mr Marsh had previously lived in the Woonona area.
4.30pm: Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a man missing from Wollongong.
William Marsh, 86, was last seen at his home on Robsons Road, West Wollongong, about 9am on Monday.
Officers attached to Wollongong Local Area Command were contacted and are searching for him.
Mr Marsh is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a slim to medium build, about 70kg with grey/white hair. He was wearing grey pants, a green, white and black shirt under a khaki green vest and black joggers.
Police and family have concerns for his welfare as he suffers from dementia and other medical conditions, and requires regular medication.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to come forward.
