Sylvia Liber has been nominated as a finalist for outstanding online video category and Andrew Pearson in the Chris Watson Award for Regional Newspaper Reporting. The winners will be announced on August 12.
Court reporter Shannon Tonkin and deputy editor Cydonee Mardon were jointly nominated for their coverage of the drink driving charges and subsequent resignation of the SES Commissioner Adam Dent.
Photographer Sylvia Liber was nominated for her video story on the life of KidzWish ambassador Leo Lagana.
Political reporter Andrew Pearson was recognised for his coverage of the steel issue. Andrew is going for back-to-back in the Chris Watson Award for Regional Newspaper Reporting having won the award jointly with Fairfax digital journalist Daisy Huntly while working with the Daily Advertiser.
The finalists were announced at a function in Sydney on Monday night. The winners will be announced at Royal Randwick next month.
