A few did have a shot on Sunday as the weather subsided but returned with minimal results.
No reports from offshore on the yellowfin or bluefin tuna front, other than the commercial long liners were getting plenty of good-sized tuna.
However, they needed to work their way out to the 1000 fathom line and beyond.
One boat reported there were plenty of mako sharks out there, spoiling their fish with five sharks at once trying to eat his boat before feeding them a bait.
Most of the fishing over the weekend was done on land or in the estuaries.
There were plenty of big drummer about the washes, with many customers reporting big dust ups from these hard fighting fish.
Gary Ford got amongst some brutes from a few rock ledges, using cunje as his go-to bait and Marcus Carey also got amongst them too up off Wombarra, securing himself a nice feed using royal red prawns.
There were still plenty of blue-nosed bream and big trevally about in the same washes, joining some big bronze blackfish feeding on the lightly weighed prawns.
Beaches again fished well for salmon and tailor. Dusk was the best time to get into the action by flicking pillies on ganged hooks.
There were reports of some big mulloway again winning freedom in the shore break, with a couple of fish seen but not landed looking every bit like a 25-kilogram beasts.
Bream and whiting are still about but are only taking the freshest of beach worms if you are adept at catching them.
Lake Illawarra was still holding some good fish with quite a few flathead still being taken on soft plastics but you needed to know where to look.
The cold snap has made for some freezing conditions on the beach.
