Three rounds are still to be played in the NSW Premier League but players and fans alike are counting the days until Wollongong’s marquee FFA Cup clash against Sydney FC at WIN Stadium on Wednesday, August 10.
A good showing against the glamour club and a big crowd on the night will only help the Wolves’ goal of returning to the big stage and playing in the country’s top competition, the A-League.
Wolves’ Under 20 striker Stefan Dimoski was banking on over 10,000 people turning up for the clash against A-League heavyweights Sydney.
‘’It’s an important game for the club. We’d love to see close to 15,000 people on the night cheering on a Wolves win,’’ he said.
Fellow player Luke Foster said the game presented a perfect opportunity for supporters to show that Wollongong deserved to have an A-League team.
The Wolves and Mercury are looking to find the Illawarra’s ‘’biggest little football fan’’. Simply take a photo of your young fan decked in their gear or in action and send it to www.illawarramercury.com.au for a chance to win four tickets to the FFA Cup clash against Sydney.
