The social enterprise, in conjunction with the IRT Foundation, want “teachers” who are over 65 for their popular skillshare program which runs around six classes a month on anything from beach fishing, to cooking staples, watercolour painting to bee-keeping and knitting.
Wild Rumpus co-founder Caitlin Marshall said they want to highlight the incredible skills that exist in the community and provide a platform for people to access that knowledge.
“We are seeing a particular interest in practical living skills from past generations such as sewing, mending, baking from scratch, gardening and other home crafts,” she said.
A morning tea for those interested is being held Friday August 12, 10am at The Rumpus Room, Wollongong Central Level 1 (across from Tree of Life).
