Dashcam was rolling inside Greg Murphy’s car as his headlights picked up the hooded man on deserted York Road, shortly before 3.30am on July 24.
The man ignores a blaring horn and high beams as he walks at the car, both arms extended.
When Mr Murphy tries again to pass, the man appears to deliberately place himself in the car’s path.
“If I hadn’t swerved as quickly as I could he would have grabbed on to the car and he would have been pegging for a ride,” Mr Murphy said.
“He tried to grab for the passenger side handle, but I just floored it too quick.
“He never said a word the whole time. I wasn't going to hang around to find out [what he wanted].”
Mr Murphy likened the man’s demeanor to that of a zombie.
The matter has been reported to police.
