Conflict resolution: Easts Beach is to have parking time limits.
Kiama council has moved to resolve summertime conflict between residents and holidaymakers over car parking near Easts Beach.
Kiama Mayor Brian Petschler said there had been a problem with parking outside the grounds of the Easts Beach Holiday Park for a number of years.
He said the problem had come about because family sites at the park, in the early days used by mum, dad and the kids, were now being used by "mum and dad, kids and the families of the kids" with second and third cars being left in residential areas, making it awkward for residents and difficult for people wanting to access the beach.

Between December 18 and January 31, the council will create four-hour parking zones in front of homes on Wilson and Ocean streets, between Marsden Street and the entry to the caravan park.
The council's rangers have been asked to increase surveillance of the area.
"We are working with the operators of the holiday park and they are changing their policy to allow an additional car to stay on site," Cr Petschler said.
"We will run it as a trial this Christmas period; there will still be some unlimited parking on the railway side of the streets."
Meanwhile, Kiama's councillors have unanimously backed a proposal to close a public car park at Kendalls Beach at night.
The council said antisocial behaviour had been causing problems for residents and guests at the Kendalls Beach Holiday Park.
Last month a car, allegedly driven by a P-plater who returned a blood-alcohol reading of .174, spun out of control when attempting to leave the car park late at night, crashing through a fence and running over a family in a tent in the adjacent caravan park.
A lockable barrier gate will be installed and controlled by caravan park management.
