Russell played in Kilsyth Cobras’ title-winning National Wheelchair Basketball League campaign, scoring 12 points in the final against Perth.
Stibners is chasing redemption after being part of the silver medal winning Australian team in London four years ago.
Wollongong Roller Hawks teammates Michael Auprince, Luke Pople and Sam White are part of the Australian team as reserves.
Another former Roller Hawks star, Tristan Knowles is also in the squad.
Rollers coach Ben Ettridge said the camp was important for Rio preparations.
“Something we have struggled to do in past campaigns is get all 12 guys together prior to the event for a myriad of different reasons,” Ettridge said.
“This time around, the boys have all made the choice to sacrifice time away from families and work to fully commit to the team preparation schedule.
“The boys have been amazing so far in their commitment to the team.”
