One of the undisputed stars of the women’s game, Bremner was a pioneer of the Illawarra’s Women in Defence League, winning four premierships with the Helensburgh Tigerlillies.

The Jillaroos’ No.1 has since linked with Cronulla Caringbah in the Sydney competition and scored the match-winner for the Sharks in Saturday’s historic women’s Nines clash with St George Illawarra.

It was another former Tigerlilly, Allana Ferguson, who laid on the the try with a kick at the death, minutes after Talia Atfield had snatched at 12-10 lead late in the fixture with a deft kick and chase.

It came after Jade Etherden and Jillaroos powerhouse Kezie Apps traded tries and Ferguson scored a solo try of her own try to take an 8-4 lead heading into the dramatic finish. 

With time running out, Ferguson put in a well-weighted kick with Bremner on hand to seize the bounce and snatch a late victory in a thrilling clash.
