At his second Games, Gregon was seventh at the Olympics in the 1500m, having qualified with a stunning kick in the semi-final.
The 26-year-old backed it up with a 7:44.90 over the 3000m distance, his best ever time, finishing 12th.
It came as his partner, Genevieve LeCaze, produced an Australian record 9:14.28 in the 3000m steeplechase at the same meet.
LeCaze was ninth in the Rio Olympics final, almost a second behind Bulli’s Madeline Hills who was seventh.
They also both competed in the 5000m race in Brazil, where Hills was 11th, five seconds clear of LeCaze.
However, after setting a number of personal bests this year, LeCaze stopped the clock on 9:14.28 in Paris to set the new Australian steeplechase mark.
Gregson holds the Australian 1500m record.
