The three day festival coordinated by UOW’s accommodation and student life and wellbeing services, includes a range of activities across the six areas of the wheel - body, mind, spirit, people, place and planet, which are all aimed at improving overall wellbeing.
UOW Wellbeing coordinator Ninan Mathew said the festival was first introduced in 2015 and was well received by the campus community.
“Everyone liked the concept last year and already this year is bigger than last year,” Mr Mathew said.
This year’s activities include a jumping castle, silent disco tours, yoga, African drumming, balcony gardening, art and craft workshops, flower arranging and circus workshops.
UOW student life and wellbeing programs senior manager Fran Walder said the festival was about normalising wellbeing. “Wellbeing is everybody’s business at UOW,” Ms Walder said.
“We want students and staff to learn how to look after their wellbeing in fun, practical ways so they can perform at their peak and over time maintain success personally, professionally and generally in life. By looking after ourselves, we are looking after each other and creating positive sustainable communities.”
