Emma and David McKeon, Nicole Beck and Grace Stewart were cheered and applauded for their efforts in Rio.
Emma McKeon and Nicole Beck were also presented with Keys to the City before all four spent more than an hour signing autographs.
The welcome home came from Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Shoalhaven and Wingecarribee councils and included some Brazilian music and samba style dancing.
All four Olympians present expressed what a wonderful welcome back it was and how great the support was while they were competing in Rio.
Brett Stibners, of Oak Flats, and Shawn Russell, of Farmborough Heights, were also acknowledged as they prepare to represent Australia in basketball at the Paralympics starting this week.
The 16 athletes who represented the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and the Southern Highlands in Rio were Aaron Royle, Blake Govers, Caitlin Foord, Casey Sablowski, David McKeon, Emma McKeon, Emma Tonegato, Grace Stewart, Jarrod Poort, Madeline Hills, Michelle Heyman, Nicole Beck, Ryan Bailie, Ryan Gregson, Shane Rose and Sue Hearn.
