Whoever you are thank you for making us laugh and smile.
On Sunday when you chose to bravely surprise everyone in Crown Street Mall by gallantly striding onto the catwalk during Heat 2 of Illawarra’s Top Model wearing lingerie – you made many people laugh and smile.
No one is angry at you for what you did on Father’s Day.
Everyone this journalist has spoken to and virtually all the comments on Illawarra Mercury’s social media channels show that it has been seen as good innocent fun.
Your runway appearance out-of-the-blue surprised everyone including the event organisers.
And the models competing all thought it was very funny.
Many have asked for copies of the video to show on their own social media timelines.
Freddie you did not interrupt the show on Sunday. You added to it. And you showed the professionalism of models such as the 2015 Illawarra’s Top Model winner Caitlin Bates who did not miss a beat.
You added to the event on Sunday and if you innocently want to make a reappearance and spend another 20 seconds on the catwalk no one is going to stop you.
In fact you may even find yourself choreographed into the show if you would like to return as Borat in a green mankini or something similar.
What you did on Sunday calmed the contestants nerves as they shot for their dreams of becoming a model in Europe.
And in a world where so many of us have concerns, challenges, busyness, inhibitions or self doubts – you have helped.
Your 20 second catwalk appearance helped us forget everything else for a while.
So Wollongong says thank you Freddie.
Illawarra’s Top Model is all about raising funds for the Light & Hope Mental Health Clubhouse in Wollongong as well as awareness about mental health.
It is run by a committee of volunteers who give tirelessly under the banner of Highlights on Mental Health.
For all of us who struggle with mental health issues such as anxiety or depression you made us laugh and smile. You made us forget the things that often cause us so much concern.
You did nothing wrong. You had some innocent fun and you brought laughter to more than 74,000 people who have already watched you on video on the Illawarra Mercury Facebook page.
So thank you Freddie. You have brightened the world with laughter with some good natured fun that has made thousands of people smile.
