Named in honour of Terry’s late father, the Cup holds a special spot on the calendar for the trio of Nowra trainers.
So when they realised there was a chance in 2016 they mightn’t have a runner, the trainers got their heads together to ensure it wasn’t the case.
“Terry couldn’t have a runner this year because he had nothing there and neither did I really but we found one because we had to find one for the Memorial Race,” Price, who has Admission in the Cup, said.
Robinson was Price’s father law and the trainer has previously won the race in his honour.
He believes Admission can also salute if the mare gets a dry surface.
Admission has won just once from 14 starts on rain-affected tracks and was fourth last start at Goulburn on a slow track.
“We got in the worst going last start and suffered some interference too, but the run was good,” Price said.
“Peter Wells said she is a completely different horse when the ground gets a bit loose and I wasted about nine or 10 runs on her on wet tracks.
“But it has been an extremely wet couple of seasons and avoiding wet tracks has been impossible.”
Jeff Penza is booked to ride Admission from barrier one in the Cup.
The mile event will be run at 2.54pm with the opening race on the card jumping at 12.29pm.
