A dozen young men and women have made it through to the final stage of the Highlights on Mental Health fundraising competition that organiser Robyn te Velde said had more than 100 entrants. Of those more than 50 raised the minimum $500 for the Light & Hope Mental Health Clubhouse in Wollongong.
That number was narrowed down to 22 last weekend with the heats in the mall over two days. Then after a two hour presentation before the judges on Saturday the final 12 names were read out.
The finalists are Carmen Williams, Shania Montero, Sam McGlone, Wyatt Brennan, Kewana Whaddy Parsons, Jinima Whaddy Parsons, Olivia Strumfin, Natalie Barker, Chloe Ryan, Ashleigh Doherty, Bree Millar and Ellen McMullen.
CMG Audio Visual and Mercedes-Benz Wollongong are helping with staging, sound and lighting stages of Illawarra’s Top Model.
As the competition moves into the final stages a European runway show will be held at the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach on October 8 before the gala dinner finale is held at the University Hall on October 22.
