It is understood a female rider was riding with a group of women when she failed to negotiate a bend just before Midday and fell about four metres down an embankment landing where roadwork has been carried out this week.
Police, Ambulance, Police Rescue, Fire & Rescue NSW and Rural Fire Service personnel attended the scene at Macquarie Pass to find the rider had landed on a large pile of mulch which probably saved her from more serious injuries.
The woman was treated at the scene and extricated carefully before being airlifted to Saint George Hospital in Sydney by NSW Ambulance in a stable condition with fractures to lower parts of her body.
