The Science Centre and Planetarium in North Wollongong is one of the region’s only indoor, all-weather venues for family entertainment.
School holidays are an exciting time at the Centre and with shows, children’s workshops and interactive exhibitions over two floors, there is enough to keep everyone entertained for hours.
“Our newly renovated exhibition space features some new exhibits as well as the return of some old favourites,” interim director Stuart Creal said. “Check out our new thermal imaging camera and see how you look! Tour the new Light Room or try the new reversed images exhibit.
“The Science Centre also houses the state’s largest fully equipped planetarium theatre and there are shows daily at 12noon, 1pm and 3pm for both children and adults.”

During the September/October school holidays the Science Centre will hold Children’s Holiday Workshops for six to 12 year olds.
“We also have some great Game Coding and 3D Printing workshops for older children,” Stuart said. “Bookings for all workshops are essential and tickets must be pre-purchased online.”
