Camping, outdoor and adventure retailer Anaconda will soon open its first store in the Illawarra, while sporting and leisure goods retailer Rebel will move from its tired downstairs store in the Keira Street section of Wollongong Central.
The existing Rebel store will be reconfigured as part of the new David Jones store, which will take over the Myer tenancy in late 2017.
The centre’s regional general manager Antony Keenan said he believed the new stores would “consolidate Wollongong Central as the Illawarra’s leading fashion and shopping destination”.
He said the recent opening of H&M had been a “major success” with an estimated 200,000 people visiting Wollongong Central in its first four days.
