Little Pebble describes life behind bars, aspirations for political future in 37-minute Justice Action video

Shoalhaven cult leader and convicted sex offender William ‘‘Little Pebble’’ Kamm has described having human faeces and urine thrown at him by fellow inmates in Goulburn jail, in a You Tube video in which he also proclaims his innocence and reveals he is starting his own a political party.

The 37-minute video, titled ‘Conversation with William Kamm, Justice Action Oral History Project 2016’, was put online on August 23.

It has 93 views so far and covers a range of topics, from the “deplorable” health care behind bars to Kamm’s plans to register the prisoner-focused Republic Reform and Justice Party.

In the video, Kamm claims he is innocent of the sexual assault allegations that saw him jailed in 2005 and blames the media for his conviction and incarceration.

“We fought [jail] strenuously in court but we had really no chance because of the media, who publicised [the case] constantly, so much so that through my trials and the time I was arrested there was approximately about 400 articles….against us,” he says.

“So therefore to have a fair trial would be impossible, but we couldn't do anything about it and we already knew afterwards there would be no chance for me in the court.”

However, Kamm says he is confident of having his conviction quashed in as little as 12 months.

“My understanding through my lawyers and through those higher up is that my conviction should be overturned in these next 12 months or so,” he says.

Meantime, Kamm also goes into detail about his time inside the walls of Goulburn jail, which he says is “one of the worst jails in Australia”.

“As soon as you're tagged with a sexual offence your’re honoured as the worst of the worst,” he says.

“Inmates would climb up the fence – 15 to 20 feet high – take rocks, milk cartons with urine and hard apples and throw it at you and [throw] excretions (sic) at you while you were walking to get to the visiting area.

“They did this to me many times and the [prison] officers just stood back and did nothing.”

Kamm was released on parole in November 2014 after serving nine years for having sex with two 15-year-old girls after claiming God and the Virgin Mary told him to use them to repopulate the earth.

In 2015, the NSW Supreme Court deemed Kamm a high-risk of re-offending and ordered him to wear electronic monitoring equipment and be supervised for a further five years.

As part of the supervision order Kamm must adhere to a 10pm-to-6am curfew, provide authorities with plans for his movements, remain in NSW but avoid Nowra, among other areas and stay way from females under 17 years old.

Of concern, a baby or young child can be heard crying in the background of the You Tube video, which appears to have been shot in an office or boardroom.

Kamm’s supervision order is set to expire in January 2021.

He has started proceedings in the NSW Supreme Court to have those orders overturned.

In his own words:

Arrest:

In 2002 I was given a letter from a close friend of mine. A young girl put it to me that unless I paid money to her and to her friends she would go to the police and have me charged for sexual harassment. I said to her by all means do. Within a month I was charged by the police.

Media:

The road then became extremely difficult. The media went on a frenzy, [they] harassed me a tremendous amount over [those] years. We had really no chance because of the media, who publicised that constantly, so much so that through my trials and the time I was arrested there was approximately about 400 articles….against us. So therefore to have a fair trial would be impossible but we couldn't do anything about it and we already knew afterwards there would be no chance for me in the court.

‘Innocent’:

My understanding through my lawyers and through those higher up is that my conviction should be overturned in these next 12 months or so. We’ve been fighting it for a long time and slowly.

Treatment inside jail:

Goulburn jail is one of the worst jails in Australia. I was targetted a fair bit because of my high profile. As soon as you’re tagged with a sexual offence your’re honoured as the worst of the worst. They (inmates) would push excretion (sic) through the holes...and throw mud at you. Inmates would climb up the fence – 15 to 20 feet high – take rocks, milk cartons with urine and hard apples and throw it at you and excretions (sic) at you while you were walking to get to the visiting area. They did this to me many times and the [prison] officers just stood back and did nothing.

Political party:

I’ve formed a new political party. It’s not registered yet by the government but the government knows about it because they’ve written to me. Its a political party for the purpose of prisoners, it’s called The Republic Reform and Justice Party. It’s basically to change the justice system, it needs to be changes drastically, [so] that prisoners are treated as human beings, not numbers.
