Twenty-one new recruits have joined Wollongong City Council as trainees with city services’ work crews.

Aged between 16 and 40, the trainees included recent school leavers, career changers and people with a disability. Infrastructure and Works director Mike Hyde said the trainees would work on parks and reserves, landscaping, road and footpath projects and beachside dunes.

“It’s essential that council continues to provide employment and development opportunities for people in the city,” he said.
