Chairman John McEwan said with a $135,000 turnaround in profitability and a 25 per cent improvement in the social and economic market research organisation’s equity position things had improved substantially during the last financial year. Mr McEwan said that was a result of hard work and renewal which means “it is a very different organisation to 12 months ago”.
Mr McEwan said the return to profit was led by new chief executive Peter Watts who has assembled a new team of market research and business consulting professionals. Mr Watts has also focused on sales and marketing as well as quality improvements and cost control. As a result IRIS has achieved a 32 per cent growth in commercial market research sales while continuing to enjoy the support of sponsors and members.
