Host carried several Newtown defenders across the line for a try with four minutes left to put his side ahead 12-10 to go with his 17 carries for a total of 174 metres during the match. He’s confident a repeat performance can get the Cutters over the line on Sunday.
“All the boys really put in and worked hard for one another and in the end it just came down to running hard and tackling hard,” Host said.
“I’m very proud of the team for reaching the grand final. We set goals throughout the season and each week we get closer to achieving them. It’ll be a good test for us coming up against the Mounties. They got the better of us in our previous two contests but if we dig deep and put on a performance like we did against the Jets we’re in with a strong chance.”
