In the last 10 years over 700 SCARF volunteers have welcomed more than 1200 refugees from 14 different countries of origin, different faiths and different ethnicities.
‘’….What we are finding with our new arrivals from Syria and Iraq is a wonderful range of skills, knowledge, expertise, interest and a genuine willingness and determination to make a positive contribution to the local community and to our country more broadly,’’ Ms Reddy said.
Her comments follow a poll released on Wednesday run by Essential Poll, that found that 49 per cent of people support a ban on Muslims coming to Australia.
