Wollongong artist Lisa Maris McDonnell has taken third place in the annual Meroogal Women’s Art Prize announced in Nowra on Friday.

Her video titled “Women’s Work” will be on display with the other finalists at Meroogal, one of Sydney Living Museums’ historic houses, until January 2017.
Vita Cochran’s “ Meroogal Sampler” was placed second and first prize, which includes a residency at Bundanon, was awarded to Linda Dening for “Hairbrush”.
This year saw a record 170 entries, 39 works from 41 artists were shortlisted.
Presented by Sydney Living Museums since 1998, the prize was established to showcase the talents of female artists from across NSW.
The prize invites female artists to create works in any medium that respond to Meroogal house and its fascinating history and collection of treasures.
