The alleged victim, aged in her 50s, told police her 29-year-old neighbour was “delusional” about claims the pair had been intimate when they first met in 2009, which allegedly prompted him to act in a sexual way towards her.
The court heard the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was in his backyard with a friend trying to trim tree branches last Thursday afternoon when the woman offered the men the use of her ladder and secateurs.
They took up the offer, however a short time later while the woman was hanging up washing in her backyard, the man allegedly leaned over the fence and said “you’re so sexy”.
The woman retorted “yeah right, 15 schooner goggles”.
The man then began making sexually explicit comments towards her and asking if she remembered him from their alleged 2009 encounter, saying “I know all about you”.
The woman turned to walk back inside, at which time the man jumped the back fence into her property. He allegedly entered the house before she could lock him out, prompting her to tell him to leave.
However, it is alleged the man went to the lounge room, took off his shirt, singlet, shoes and socks, lay on the lounge and propositioned her, saying “come on, you want it don’t you?”
He then allegedly launched himself at her, lying on top of her before grabbing her hand and rubbing it against his erect penis.
When the woman allegedly resisted, the man claimed she’d invited him into her house “offering sex and drugs”.
“F—k off I did...you have no idea what you’re talking about, you are so delusional,” she allegedly responded.
The man returned to his own house, however the court heard there were further incidents on Friday and Saturday morning that made the woman uncomfortable.
She reported the matters to police and the man was arrested that afternoon.
In court on Sunday, the man claimed the pair had been intimate on Thursday and it was only when the woman’s daughter came home that he was kicked out of her house.
The case returns to court Monday where a fresh bail application will be made.
