Up against a United side which has lost just once all campaign, the Sharks marched to their biggest win since rejoining the top tier in 2013.
After scores were level at half time, Daniel Loe put Woonona in front with a left foot effort into the bottom corner in the 61st minute.
The Sharks were in dreamland seven minutes when Caleb Russell finished off some neat build up play.
The League Champions pulled a goal back in the first minute of stoppage time through a Bradley Acev penalty to set up a nervous final few minutes.
But Woonona held firm to secure a valuable piece of silverware.
Earlier, a first half blitz from Wollongong Olympic paved the way for them to notch up a 4-1 win over Tarrawanna in the under-18s.
