After a disappointing 2015-16 campaign, Calver believes Sydney FC are ready to bounce back this season and become an A-League contender once again.
“The boys were all keen to prove everyone wrong from last year. It will be a good year I think,” Calver told the club’s website.
“[Coach Graham Arnold] been really positive and trying to make us better and the signs are all good.
“He knows what the boys can do so I think we’re in for a big year.”
Calver has played 27 games for Sydney FC since 2012.
The 20-year-old inked a two-year deal at the beginning of last season, but only made nine total appearances for the campaign under Arnold.
Sydney FC begin their A-League season against the Western Sydney Wanderers on October 8.
