A man has been charged over last week’s daylight shooting at Woonona after he handed himself in to police.

Emergency services were called to Mountain Avenue just after 2.30pm on Wednesday after a man reported he had been shot.
Police allege the 29-year-old man was shot in nearby Joanne Street before getting into his car and driving to Mountain Avenue.
He suffered facial injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Sydney in a serious but stable condition.
The man’s injuries were not considered life threatening and he has since been released from hospital.
Wollongong detectives launched Strike Force Bunko to investigate the incident.
Following investigations, a 28-year-old man walked into Wollongong Police Station about 10.15am on Tuesday.
He was charged with shooting at a person with intent to murder and refused bail to attend Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday.
Inquiries by Strike Force Bunko detectives are continuing and further arrests are expected.
