Ball played a major role in in fund-raising, planning and construction of the rejuvenated Bradman Museum to include The International Cricket Hall of Fame in Bowral, opened in November 2010. Also chairman of the National Capital Authority for preservation of cultural and public sites in Canberra, Ball was awarded an Order of Australia in 2012.
This year he was honoured with the higher Officer of the Order of Australia ‘for distinguished service to the community through leadership roles … and to the promotion of the history of cricket’.
Ball served as Bradman Foundation chairman for eight years.
“We are greatly indebted to Michael’s vision, boundless energy and enthusiasm for the museum project,” Current Bradman Foundation chairman Mr Maurice Newman said.
