Baris Esen, 24, from Coniston, handed himself in to Wollongong Police Station on Tuesday evening, just hours after his alleged accomplice, Tyson Neil Bayley, was refused bail in court.
Mr Romaniszyn was shot in the face in Joanne Street just before 2.30am on September 21.
He drove himself to nearby Mountain Avenue and contacted triple zero. Mr Romaniszyn’s was not seriously injured and he has since been released from hospital.
Police allege Bayley was behind the shooting and have charged him with attempted murder.
Esen and a third man have been charged with being accessories after the fact.
Esen fronted Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday but did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.
