Daniel Tarvij was arrested in dramatic scenes on a Wollongong street last month after detectives pulled over the hotted-up purple Ford sedan he was in. 

The 21-year-old was wrestled to the footpath and handcuffed before a police officer pulled out a sawn-off .22 calibre rifle from down his pants.

Footage obtained by Fairfax Media shows a detective checking if the gun is loaded before placing it on the ground as a crowd of curious onlookers are shuffled back by police.

Tarvij's father, Roger, was charged days later under the same NSW Firearms Squad investigation, focused on the supply of guns in the region. 

It will be alleged that Tarvij, a carpenter by trade, had clocked up a debt with the Lone Wolf OMCG in the Illawarra. 

In a bid to generate some money and meet the bikie debt, he allegedly took to selling guns.

It is understood Tarvij is accused of acting as a middleman or a broker in broader firearms supply activity. 

After his dramatic arrest on September 16, police arrived at a rented Gipps Street unit in Wollongong to roll out a raid. 

Unfortunately for a 28-year-old man, he was in the middle of allegedly trying to break into the unit through a window when police arrived and caught him in the act. 

He was later charged with break and enter and larceny and was granted bail to face court next month. 

Once inside the unit, officers allegedly found a .303 rifle, a .223 Remington rifle and ammunition. 

Tarvij, who appeared briefly in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday, has been charged with several offences, including firearm possession and using a carriage service to threaten to kill. 

Four days later his 55-year-old father was arrested after a raid on a Bligh St unit that uncovered a gaming machine, cannabis, a crossbow, and air pistol. 

Roger Tarvij, who is facing drug and weapons offences, was granted conditional bail and will face court again in November. 

Tarvij is due to face court later this year.
