A clean-up operation is underway after an early morning truck fire on the Hume Highway near Sutton Forest.

The semi-trailer caught fire about 4am on Monday while heading south on the Hume Highway near

Firefighters extinguished the blaze but one lane of the highway remained closed for at least six hours due to debris on the road. The road had reopened by midday.
It is unclear whether anyone was injured however Ambulance NSW said they were not called.
Motorists were diverted through Mittagong and Mossvale until about 5am when one southbound lane reopened.
Drivers were warned to exercise caution when heading through the area.
