Defending 8-160 in Canberra last season, the Crew bowled the Aces out for just 118, as Joel Gray and Ben Mitchell snared four wickets each.
They meet again on Sunday, with the winner facing off against either Orana or Central Western Wranglers for a shot at playing at the SCG.
Kieran Gray showed he is in ominous form after smashing 82 in a losing cause in a trial match against the Illawarra Flames in a trial this week.
The Crew scored 162, but were overpowered by Illawarra’s total of 6-167.
