Hayden from Compleat Angler at Windang said this Sunday will see the running of the first annual “Gone Fishing Day” to be hosted by DPI/Fisheries down on the Reddall Reserve at Lake Illawarra, from 10am until 3pm. It’s free to enter.
Compleat Angler Illawarra will be heavily involved in the day and will be down at Reddall Reserve (look for the big black boat) offering fishing and tackle advice and they will also conduct a fishing competition with some super prizes including a couple of high performance fishing combo’s provided by Daiwa Australia and Shimano Australia Fishing for a few lucky kids on the day.
There will be heaps of other giveaways on the day.
Several guest speakers will be in attendance to talk on how to fish, casting techniques and competition and the importance of using PFD (life jackets).
No need to book, just turn up on the day. Further details at www.gonefishingday.org or at www.Facebook.com/gonefishingday
The run of luderick continued along the entrance areas and guys who were short on green weed found peeled prawn sections worked nearly as well but attracted some nice bream and the odd flathead.
Beaches have had salmon and tailor feeding early dawn and late dusk periods and ganged pillies seemed to work a treat.
