Organise for six huge containers of infrastructure and equipment to be transported from Melbourne to Wollongong. Tick.
Set up said courts and infrastructure on North Wollongong Beach in time for the inaugural Beach Netball event. Big tick.
That’s what NETFIT Netball founder Sarah Walsh and her crew of helpers completed by mid-afternoon Friday.
At 5pm former NSW Swifts player Walsh and fellow netballers Taylah Davies and Kim Green officially kick-started the netball event with a difference, with a public workout open to participants and bystanders alike.
‘’This day has been a long time coming. I can’t wait to get started. We’ve got a big party tonight as well with all teams,’’ Walsh said.
About 50 teams will hit the beach on Saturday and Sunday for a series of round-robin games. The three-day festival of fun and fitness also includes group fitness workouts, a celebrity match, food, music and the Official Beach Netball Party.
