And the residents of Calderwood Valley will be the big winners as a result.
They have been invited to celebrate National Children’s Week with Lendlease and Kidsafe at a Movie Under the Stars event being held in conjunction with the school fair on October 22.
Hosted in partnership with Kidsafe, the Child Accident Prevention Foundation of Australia, the event will include child safety information and road safety demonstrations, children’s activities, giveaways, a sausage sizzle and a screening of the new Ice Age: Collision Course movie.
Lendlease’s communities business in NSW/ACT general manager, Arthur Ilias said the event was a great opportunity to bring the local community together for a fun and educational afternoon.
‘’Kidsafe do a great job at promoting child safety and reducing the number of injuries among children whether this is through playground, water or road safety,’’ Mr Ilias said.
Kidsafe will highlight child safety and injury prevention through free child restraint checks between 3.30pm and 5.30pm (registration required for safety checks at www.kidsafensw.org/registrations/) and provide additional information at their stall, including free handouts.
Ice Age character Scrat will also make an appearance at the Spring Fair being held at the school’s premises at 234 Calderwood Road, Albion Park.
Activities kick-off at 3pm, with sausage sizzle and snacks available from 6.30pm. The Ice Age: Collision Course movie will screen from 7pm.
Entry is free.
