Northern beaches continued to fish well for a wide range of species including some XOS bream, some early season whiting, sizable flatties and the seemingly endless stocks of salmon and tailor.

There were wide reports of school mulloway also on the beaches and a couple of gun anglers found a beach formation that held a swag of small fish and using soft plastics during the day and evening, nailed 7 fish in an hour and a half that were all tagged and released.
DPI/Fisheries have advised the 2016/17 FADs program has continued with a further 8 FADs deployed at Newcastle, Swansea, Terrigal, Sydney North, Sydney Harbour, Sydney East, Sydney South and Botany Bay wide. Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama FADS are next in line for placement.
