In one of the few race days of it’s kind, the meet will exclusively feature two-stroke bikes in a homage to the club’s long and storied history at the track.
Club member Adam Frost said it will be the first time the club has hosted such an event since the late 90s.
“It’s a pretty unique event, the only one of it’s kind in NSW and probably Australia,” Frost said.
“You get a couple of [two-stroke] races around the place but it’s very rare you’ll see a whole race day dedicated to it.
“We haven’t had a two stroke race day since pre-2000 when four-strokes really started to take hold.
“We’ve attracted a lot of competitors from all across the state including a lot of the older guys who used to race two-stroke back in the day getting the old weapons out of the garage.
“The club has a history stretching back 100 years and we wanted to hold a race day dedicated to what the club and what racing at Mt Kembla was all about.
“We’re hoping to recreate the old days of the club, the smell the sound and the old atmosphere that the club and Mt Kembla was built on.”
Racing will take place in several division starting from the junior 50cc to senior 500cc while there will also be pre-1995 and pre-1985 divisions.
The top five qualifiers will have the chance to compete in the feature race of the day the MX340 Two Stroke Cup with a $1000 prize on offer for the winner.
