Since then she has modelled in Europe and South America but her love of Kiama, Shellharbour and Wollongong keeps drawing her back home.

Ms Brooke-Smith is frequently asked to model for events in and around the Illawarra and they often involve opportunities for other young men and women.

She always manages to find what the organisers want so has decided to establish her own model agency to do that on a more regular basis.

“Elevate Modelling and Promotional Agency is going to be based on the South Coast. We have been getting jobs already. I am getting the agency up and running with a new website soon and we are looking for girls, boys, children and plus size models. They can email me at elevatemodelagency@gmail.com and then we will do interviews,” she said.

Ms Brooke-Smith She thinks now is a good time to launch her new business with Spring Racing Carnival and end of year corporate events creating a demand for such work. And instead of Illawarra businesses and event organisers going to Sydney she wants to give them an opportunity to use local talent.

“I am so lucky to have the experience I have and I want to give other people the opportunity. There is a wealth of talent in the local area and people don’t need to use Sydney agencies for their work. I would rather keep work local and give people opportunities,” she said.

Ms Brooke-Smith who works at i98fm and is about to graduate with a business communications degree and journalism and would like to supply models for everything from catalogues, television commercials, launches and promotional events.

“We recently did the Honda Jazz launch in Wollongong. It is modelling but there is also going to be a promotional side to it as well. Coming up to Christmas there are a lot of events. That is why I am really pushing for this to get going. I knew how helpful it was when people helped me pursue my career and I would really like to help other models make their dreams become reality. And I am keen to pass on my experience.“
